The holy month of Vaisakha begins on May 9 and ends on June 6

Vaishaka month celebration is observed with utmost importance in all Vaishnava temples including Guruvayur.

Vaishaka Mahatmya of Skandapurana is available in Malayalam in the form of kilipatu. The method is to recite Vaishaka Mahatmya Kilipat completely in thirty days in the order of one chapter a day. Bhagavata Parayanam/Saptaham, Vishnu Purana Parayanam, bathing, Shraddha, Tar Panam etc. were also performed in rivers like Nila, Periyar, Pampa and other sacred places.
