Chavakkad: The Tarpana festival at Palayur St. Thomas major archiepiscopal Church Major Archbishop has started. On Saturday evening, after the Divya Bhali at 5:30 p.m., the celebration began. The Vicar General of Thrissur Archdiocese Mon. Jose Valluran officiated.
Church Archpriest Rev. Dr. Davis Kannampuzha and Assistant Vicar Fr. Derin Arimbur were present. The arrow, bangle and shoolam ehunnallip started at 2 pm and will conclude at 10 pm. Then there will be a color shower and a mega band.
Members of the Church’s past choirs led the chants for Friday’s Divine Liturgy. Trustees Santosh TJ, KJ Paul, CM Babu and Joffin Joseph presided.
Parcel convenor Johnson NK announced that after the 6:30 a.m. Food on Sundays, “ootu Nercha” food and Ootu Nercha food will be available as parcels.
At 10 o’clock in the morning, the Holy Mass was celebrated. Jose Konicara as the chief worker, Rev. Dr. Sebastian Chalakal will also deliver the celebratory message.
Stephen Chemmannur informed that there will be community baptism officiated by Thrissur Archdiocese Auxiliary Bishop Mar Tony Neelanga at 2:00 p.m.
The convenor Thomas Vaka informed that the preparations for the celebratory Thirunal Pradakshan have been completed.
Pradakshinam will be followed by New Sangeet Thirur and Shinkari Fusion, a joint performance band of Calvary Jose Kings. Charlie CC, Baby Francis, Godwin Joju and committee members are leading the Thirunal activities.
