Heavy rain is possible to continue in the state. The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in North Kerala. Orange alert has been announced today in Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod districts. Yellow alert has been announced in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Wayanad districts.
Heavy rainfall may also occur in hilly areas. The disaster management authority has advised the public to be alert as there is a possibility of thunder and wind along with the rain.
Kerala, Karnataka has imposed a ban on fishing off the Lakshadweep coast due to the possibility of strong winds and bad weather. Fishermen and coastal residents should be cautious as there is a possibility of high waves and storm surge along Kerala Tamil Nadu coasts.
