Guruvayur: In a meeting of traders organizations chaired by Guruvayur Municipal Chairman M. Krishnadas agreed to completely avoid the sale and use of single-use products in the pilgrimage city of Guruvayur with public participation.
Standing Committee Chairperson Shailaja Sudhan, A Sainathan, Municipal Secretary H Abhilash Kumar, Clean City Manager KS Laxmanan, Senior Public Health Inspector Rafeeq C, members of Haritakarma Sena Consortium, businessmen, representatives of hotel and lodge associations and flower vendors were present.
The meeting decided in principle to avoid sale and use of paper / plastic / thermocol cups, plates and ice cream bowls before August 15, 2024.
The use of single use items should be completely avoided in wedding halls, hotels, lodges and shops and other business establishments should stop their sale in the Guruvayur Municipality area.
Guruvayur Municipal Chairman M. Krishnadas informed that everyone should cooperate to keep Guruvayur a clean and beautiful city.
