Guruvayoor: With the incessant rain and the devotees as witnesses, the treatment of Sri Guruvayoorappa’s gajaveerans began at the Punnathur Elephant Sanctuary.
Guruvayoor Devaswom Chairman Dr. VK Vijayan inaugurated the Comfort treatment center for elephants. Gajaveeran Devadas was first one to be given with medicated rice at the inauguration.
Then the other elephants were also given the medicated rice ball. Members of Devaswom Management Committee KP Viswanathan, VG Ravindran, Administrator KP Vinayan, Jiva Dhanam DA KS Mayadevi, Manager Bina, Jiva Dhanam Expert Committee members Dr. P. B. Giridas, Dr. T. S. Rajeev, Dr. M. N. Devan Namboothiri, Dr. K. Vivek, Dr. Charujith Narayanan, Devaswom Veterinary Surgeon, Municipal Ward Councilor and Welfare Standing Committee Chairperson were present.
Shailaja Sudhan and media workers were present on the occasion. Good treatment will be provided till 30th July. Provide a balanced diet that is beneficial for the health of the elephants as well as their body growth. The Devaswom Governing Body has approved an estimate of Rs.2 lakh for palliative care
