Guruvayur: Union Minister of State for Tourism, Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi offered Narunei and Kadalipzham at Lord Vishu’s Sopanam.
Suresh Gopi, who came to Guruvayur for the first time after assuming office as Union Minister, was given a reception at Guruvayur Devaswom on Friday at 4 pm. Devaswom Chairman Dr VK Vijayan, Administrator KP Vinayan and DAKS Mayadevi welcomed the Minister who landed by car at the Devaswom guest house Srivalsam.
Chairman Dr VK Vijayan felicitated him. With a small smile came his response “Accepting it as Guruvayurappan’s”- then rested for a while with relatives and friends. At 5.30 pm came down for temple darshan. Greeted the devotees on the south side and proceeded. He reached the Ganesha temple on the eastern side and worshiped the Lord. Ripe coconut. It was then that Guruvayoorappan came to the farm.
Temple DA Pramod Kalarikal and Assistant Manager Ramakrishnan received the Union Minister at the Gopura gate. After circumambulation of the temple, Guruvayoorappan was hoisted from the flagpole. Then he entered Nalampalam and saw Ishtadev full of tears. Nar, ghee and kadalikula were offered. Shown.
Darshana Sayugyam gained. The Union Minister spent around 40 minutes in the temple and came down after completing his darshan at 6:00 pm. Union Minister Suresh Gopi met Devaswom Chairman Dr VK Vijayan and Temple Tantri Brahmashree PC Dinesan Namboothiripad at the Gopura gate and bid them farewell.
