Narendra Modi takes oath in the name of God for his third term as Prime Minister. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oaths. The activists welcomed the sworn in Prime Minister with slogans of Modi Modi. This is the first time since independent India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, that a leader has been sworn in as the third consecutive prime minister. 72 ministers will take oath along with Modi. Narendra Modi took oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7.15.
More than 8000 people participated in the swearing-in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Rulers from various countries, other guests, film stars and 250 people involved in the construction of the new Parliament building were invited to the oath-taking ceremony. Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles Ahmed Afif, President of Maldives Mohammad Muisu, President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobge, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnath came to witness the swearing-in ceremony of the third Modi government.
Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kumar, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Mukesh Ambani were also present. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge attended the function as per the decision of India Front. Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar attended the function.
