Guruvayur: A symbolic elephant offering ceremony was held at the Guruvayur temple. The ceremony was held after Shivali on Saturday morning.
The Melshanthi of the temple, PS Madhusudan Namboothiri, headed the event. The elephant was offered by Nathika Chembiparam CR Jayaprakasan. Ten lakhs of rupees were paid to the Devaswom for this purpose. Devaswom Kompan (Elephant) Jr.Vishu was the one being offered. Brahmashree Mallissery Parameswaran Namboothiripad, Jeevadhanam Deputy Administrator KS Mayadevi, Temple DA Pramod Kalarikal and Assistant Manager Ramakrishnan were present on the occasion. CR Jayaprakash’s family members and devotees participated in the function.
