Guruvayur: drinking water will be distributed from tomorrow said MLA N K. Akbar, it was informed that drinking water pipeline to wards 1, 2 and 3 including the VS Keralian Road area in the eastern region of Engandiyur Gram Panchayat was broken due to the work of the National Highway.
It was announced that the connection would be restored within 15 days, but as it was not completed, it was announced that it would be completed by April 30 in the discussion led by the Deputy Collector. But since the work was not completed even by May 8, the MLA Water Authority had issued strict instructions to the Exi.Engineer.
If the connection is not restored within 48 hours, the MLA has informed the exi-engineer of the water authority that they will go on an open strike under the leadership of the MLA and will take measures including stopping the construction work on the national highway.
After 48 hours of continuous efforts, the piping was completed and water is being pumped from the water authority’s tank. drinking water supply will start in the said areas of the panchayat from tomorrow, MLA informed.
