In a battle of Malayalam cinema giants, Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Aavesham’ has emerged victorious over Pranav Mohanlal’s ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ at the box office on Day 3. According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, ‘Aavesham’ raked in an impressive ₹4.35 crore on its third day, boosting its total collection to approximately ₹11.35 crore. Meanwhile, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ garnered ₹3.74 crore on Day 3, with a cumulative total of ₹9.54 crore.
Directed by Jithu Madhavan and produced by Nazriya Nazim and Anwar Rasheed, ‘Aavesham’ tells the tale of three teenagers who befriend a local gangster in Bangalore after a street altercation. Fahadh Faasil, essaying the role of Ranga, has captivated audiences with his energetic performance, marking a departure from his usual subtle characters. The film’s success underscores Fahadh’s versatility as an actor, especially in high-octane sequences filmed in single takes.
On the other hand, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’, starring Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan, transports viewers back to the vibrant era of 1970s-80s South Indian cinema. The movie narrates the aspirations of Murali and Venu, who journey to Madras with dreams of becoming a music director and film director, respectively.
As both films continue to captivate audiences, ‘Aavesham’ maintains its lead at the box office, signaling Fahadh Faasil’s growing popularity and the enduring appeal of youthful narratives in Malayalam cinema.
